In this block you will learn the basic way of catching the shape of any flower, not depending on how complex it is. It includes the art supplies list and useful tips regarding choosing paper and paints for the course and future work. Youwill have practice in making brush strokes with round brush and painting various flowers in different positions using these brush strokes. Throughout this block you will create 4 finished images capturing the simple flowers.

BLOCK 2-FORM
Second block is all about creating the three demential form out of flat shape. Here you will learn the main secret of painting believable watercolor flowers with depth & volume. I will tell you about value of the color, warm and cool colors, light and shadow, color mixing and color wheel. I will share the way I create my own basic palette. You have practice of painting brush strokes with flat and filbert brushes and create several floral images which will have depth and volume in them.

MY STORY
My name is Yuliya Podlinnova and I am the author of Whiteheartdesign courses.
It seems I have been an artist all my life. But teaching art has been my passion and profession since I graduated with a degree in fine arts in 2004 from a local university near my home, in the Ural Mountains in Russia. In 2015, I was still teaching and doing commercial artwork, but spending more time at home with my firstborn. For fun, I started painting watercolor flowers and I fell in love!
But, even though I was an experienced artist, I did struggle with some aspects of watercolor florals. Some of my initial attempts either did not look like flowers at all or were overworked and dull. I studied the work of artists whose vibrant looking flowers looked effortless to create. I saw that the answer was in how to apply shadows in different ways to create depth and volume. I experimented with brush strokes and color and techniques and practiced (and threw away many pieces of paper). I finally saw how easy and quick it could be to paint loose florals that had dimension. I could apply what I learned to any kind of flower and the results were exactly what I wanted.
And now I am sharing my methods with you!
